Testing of Water and Sewer Lines: Water lines are pressure tested by connecting a pressure gauge to a faucet The water is then turned off at the meter or the house cut-off, and the pressure is monitored to determine if there is a loss of pressure indicating a leak.

If there is not an operable cut-off (usually close to the house in the flower bed area) a cut-off valve may need to be installed to accurately test the domestic water lines below the slab and thru-out the house. There must be no leaky or drippy faucets, or none that cannot be shut or capped off. Sewer lines are tested by Static Gravity Test. A test ball is placed in the main sewer line close to the outer perimeter of the house to block off the line.

The lines are then filled up to, and monitored at floor level to determine if the water level drops indicating a leak. A "Proper" clean-cut (a double or a single two-way) is usually necessary to accurately test the sewer lines.

Water Leaks: Leaks below slab are located (pinpointed) with the use of acoustic listening devices, electronic line locators and many years of experience. Repairs are usually accessed thru small slab penetrations, or may be accessible from the outside by tunneling under the perimeter beam if the leak is close to the outside wall.

Re-routing of water lines can often be done to replace one line, or the entire domestic water system. This method is frequently used to avoid damage to expensive flooring, or to replace lines with re-occurring pinhole leaks.

Sewer/Drain Leaks: Leaks are located with the use of In-Line Sewer camera's and isolation test plugs. Repairs are usually accessed thru small slab penetrations, or may can be accessed from the outside by tunneling under the outer perimeter beam if the leak is close to the outside wall.

Complete re-piping of sewer systems, or partial re-pipe (often of kitchen sink lines) may be necessary, or recommended if there are multiple leaks, bad pipe, or back fallen (improperly sloped) lines.

Trenchless Sewer Line Replacement: Accu-Find Slab Leak Inc. has been re-piping sewer lines by Boring under slab foundations since the company was established in 1990. Our method of replacing the existing sewer line with a new Schedule 40 PVC Pipe has been proven to withstand the test of time.

There are other methods of Trenchless Line Replacement often used to re-pipe lines below slab foundations: Pipe Bursting and Liner Installation. There are many factors to evaluate to determine the best method for re-piping: plumbing layout, slope, length, and depth of lines.
